I am SO excited to share the images from Steven and Jennifer’s June wedding in Montezuma, Iowa! The couple chose a beautiful June day to say their “I Do’s” at Community Hope Church, and they celebrated their reception at the beautiful Mannatt Center in Brooklyn, Iowa.
To start the day, I photographed Jennifer’s dress, with an ornate sweetheart neckline and a flattering peplum waistline. So pretty!
Jennifer also had a vision of her flower girls gazing up at her dress before the wedding, so we GLADLY obliged!
Jennifer presented her groom with a note and a small gift on their wedding day. She stowed the note away in the pages of her Bible, which seemed so fitting for this faithful couple that I had to be sure to photograph it, along with other wedding day details.
The bride and her maids dressed in the fellowship hall of the church, so it was BUSTLING with activity. Each of the maids had a satin robe to wear for wedding day preparations.
The bride’s mom, Debi, was in charge of helping Jennifer into her dress.
Once Jennifer was dressed and ready, she asked to have a first look with “her girls” and also with her dad. These were all FILLED with emotion!
I loved the way the flower girls led Jennifer’s dad in to see his daughter for the first time as a bride. So sweet!
For family portraits, I suggested that Steven hug his dad or give him a handshake. It turns out, they have a secret “Kopp handshake!”
The flowers for the day were provided by Blooming Endeavors in Montezuma. The arrangements were PERFECT with the shimmery bridesmaid dresses.
Jennifer and Steven elected not to see each other until they were walking down the aisle. One of my favorite parts of their day, though, was watching them take a few minutes prior to the ceremony to breathe for a moment and pray together.
Debi, the mother of the bride, played her violin as her daughter walked down the aisle. The couple said their vows in front of the whole church, then invited the wedding party and their families to come up to pray with and over them in a prayer circle.
As a surprise to her groom (and most of the congregation), Jennifer wrote and sang a song for Steven. Jennifer has a GORGEOUS singing voice, and the joy on both her and Steven’s faces moved many guests, as well this wedding photographer, to tears.
After the wedding, the entire wedding party hopped on the party bus to head toward Brooklyn. On the way, we stopped at Diamond Lake for some beautiful portraits of the wedding party! The rain held off for most of the day, but we were chased away from the lake by a few sprinkles.
When we arrived at the Mannatt Center, we were blown away by the attention to detail: the center pieces, the table coverings, EVERYTHING sparkled beautifully thanks to a friend of the couple, Jackie. The bride’s dad, the best man, the bride’s two sisters, and the couple gave toasts for the evening.
After the couple cut the cake, we headed outside for a few portraits of the couple in front of the Opera House, which is coincidentally next door to the Mannatt Center. The Opera House provided a beautiful backdrop for a few portraits of just the couple before dancing began.
Jennifer and Steven, your day was perfect, and I am so glad to have captured these memories for you!
